Jody Direen is a New Zealand recording artist whose music is shaped by land, lineage and lived experience. Her latest single, West Coast, is a cinematic celebration of strength and quiet grit — a song rooted in place and the women who carry it.

 

Since making her debut with the album 'Breaks Out' under the Australian label ABC Music in 2015, Jody Direen has become a dynamic force in the country music scene, captivating audiences across New Zealand and Australia. Known for her electrifying performances and charismatic presence, Jody has quickly established herself as one of Australasia's most vibrant country stars.

Her impressive career has seen her claim the prestigious Tui at the Aotearoa Music Awards for Best Country Artist in 2017, with a nomination following in 2021. Jody's talent has graced the stages of the largest country music festivals in the region, including four consecutive years at CMC Rocks and Australia's inaugural C2C Festival alongside stars like Tim McGraw and Kelsea Ballerini. She has also had the honour of supporting legendary acts such as the late Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes, and Scotty McCreery during their New Zealand tours.

Jody's hits, including 'Loud', 'Tattoo', 'Together', 'Dirt Rich', and 'Gimme the Beat', have enjoyed significant radio play and chart success, earning her multiple nominations and opportunities to perform on stages of all sizes.
